Christmas Markets: Hyde Park Winter Wonderland 2014/2015
The fabulous family-friendly festivities of Winter Wonderland will be returning to London’s celebrated Hyde Park. This delightful event will be taking place from November 21st 2014 to January 4th 2015 (with this exception of Christmas Day) and will feature a whole host of fun activities to help get you and your loved ones into the festive spirit. If you are planning on attending this wonderful event from further afield, you will be able to find the best London accommodation deals online. With this in mind, here is my guide to the 2014/2015 edition of Winter Wonderland.
Just like previous years, the 2014/2015 Winter Wonderland event in Hyde Park will play host to a vast selection of festive-themed activities and performances aimed at both children and adults alike. This year’s unforgettable event will see the erection of a spectacular ice rink, the construction of a Magical Ice Kingdom, home to an enchanting ice forest and towering castle, and the putting on of several phenomenal acrobatic spectacles at the city’s unmissable Cirque Beserk and the Zippos Circus.
Winter Wonderland will also feature numerous exhilarating rollercoaster rides for thrill-seekers and fun park attractions such as helter skelters and carousels for the very young. Furthermore, Hyde Park’s number one festive event will play host to delightful Christmas Markets, teeming with perfect gift ideas from jewellery and trinkets to decorations and cards. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the charming Angels and Yuletide Market, where they will be able to discover the charismatic wooden chalets brimming with festive cheer and tasty goodies.
You will also be spoilt for choice should you get peckish during your visit. Winter Wonderland Christmas Market boasts a number of fantastic themed bars and restaurants including the Bavarian Village, Carousel Bar and Fire Pit, where you will be able to warm up with a divine hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine. Alternatively, grab a cocktail at Bar Ice, surrounded by ice sculptures in this wintry wonderland or enjoy wholesome and hearty food such as traditional British fish and chips or tasty German hotdogs at the Star Tavern or House of St. Nicholas.
Winter Wonderland will be open to the public from 10am until 10pm every day and includes free entry. This being said, certain rides and attractions will require the purchasing of tickets on site. It is also possible to book in advance for a number of particularly popular events as tickets tend to sell out quickly, especially over weekends. The 2014/2015 edition of Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is set to be the best yet with more top attractions and activities than ever before, leading no doubt to the spreading of more festive cheer!
