#10 Barbie’s 60th Anniversary
Barbie turned 60 in 2019 and to celebrate the anniversary we installed a photo opportunity for their ‘You Can Be Anything’ campaign to inspire future female role models.
Barbie Multi-Event Product Launch
The Barbie 60th Anniversary tour activation went to eight Smyths Toy Stores across the UK including a flagship experience at the Smyths Toys London. In addition, Barbie fans could dress up and have their photo taken inside the iconic Barbie box. The photo booth offered young fans the option to choose a pilot, doctor, journalist, firefighter and astronaut to aspire too. After the photo was taken, they received their photo printed with a personalised overlay relating to their career choice.
Following the success of the Barbie activation. we teamed up with Smyths on a Lego activation for a spooky Halloween experience. Set in a fictional town of Newbury, visitors would enter the booth and have their picture taken. Once processed, their image appeared on the photo booth screen with ghosts popping up through an animated GIF.
For the highly anticipated Frozen 2 launch, fans were once again invited to an unforgettable in-store event. Guests had the chance to play with Frozen 2 toys and enter an enchanted forest before getting their very own Frozen-themed photo.
For all three events, we provided Smyths with a bespoke photo pod, which included personalisation on the photo pod and custom software.
#9 Media Week Awards with OK! Magazine
The Media Week Awards is the most highly prized in UK commercial media. We collaborated with the official sponsor, OK! magazine, and installed a balloon wall with an LED neon sign. In addition, facing this stunning balloon backdrop was our Bullet Time photo experience.
OK! Custom Balloon Wall Installation and Bullet Time
The Media Week Awards celebrates innovation and creativity and represents a world-changing and expanding in the face of disruption and digital transformation. To celebrate all things digital, the Bullet Time photo booth captures HD GIFs with a 180-degree multi-camera array. Additionally, visitors could share their moment in front of a branded neon sign and a balloon wall that evoked OK!’s fashion and beauty ethos.
This year we’ve created Balloon tunnels for Glitzy red carpet events including custom branded balloons display for Boots in-store campaign across the country.
#8 – Dior Cruise 2020 Collection Launch
Iconic fashion brand Christian Dior launched their Cruise 2020 Collection with an event at their flagship store in New Bond Street.
The Cruise collection is the compelling vision of designer and artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The collection draws inspiration from Ezcaramuzas of Mexico. An all-female-email sport within Charreria – the Mexican equivalent of rodeo that combines strength with beauty. Chiruri mood board inspiration saw Mexican horse riders and equestrian-inspired pieces alongside French lace and toile de Jouy, specialities of Chantilly. Both representing the power of women at Dior.
Moreover, Chiuri instilled all her nascent feelings for feminism into a powerful and meaningful fashion line. The collection includes dresses and skirts adorned with the grace and strength of these skilled horsewomen.
The theme played a significant role in the photo experience. Inspired by the Cruise collection, the photo pod, backdrop and photo overlay featured indigo and vibrant colours. Not only this but tarot motifs were included evoking the power of nature in a distinctive fusion of cultural patterns. All customers left with a photo souvenir booklet with their Cruise collection photo.
#7: Longchamp launch LGP Monogram Line for Spring/Summer 2019
Model and fashionista, Kendall Jenner debuted the LPG Monogram bag on the streets of Paris in May. Since then the collection has become the must-have accessory. It includes handbags, travel accessories and ready-to-wear pieces adorning the Longchamp logo in large geometric black and white letters in a jumbled design. A style that’s synonymous with the 1930s Bauhaus movement that targets the eccentric and urban fashion lovers.
The French brand launched its collection by hosting an event at their flagship store on Regent Street in London. The event offered guests the chance to preview the new collection and share their moment with a custom Bullet Time GIF that featured a Longchamp geometric logo background. Guests shared their photos on social and put them in a prize draw to win a product from the new collection.
#6 Mabel Album Launch at Annabels
Daughter to Cameron Mcvey and idiosyncratic Neneh Cherry, the young pop star is putting her own stamp on the music industry with debut album High Expectations. Mabel comes from some of the best music stock in the business. The album is less than an expression of thrusting youthful ambition than a statement of fact. Much like the venue that hosted the launch party, the stunning Annabels in Mayfair.
Residing on Berkley Square in a Grade I listed Georgian House, sits this elegant member’s club in Mayfair. This globally recognised London institution captures both the grandeur of old school England and heady doses of glitz and glamour.
Hosted by Sony and Universal Music the album launch party brought together famous radio DJs, TV presenters and a handful of Love Island contestants. We featured our Mini Bullet Rig complete with metallic foil backdrop and personalised Mabel balloons. A very worthy contestant at number 6 for the photo experiences of 2019.
#5: Superdrug Presents
We unveiled our new light tunnel at Superdrug’s health and beauty playground at The Yard in Shoreditch. Superdrug invited customers, influencers, and celebrities to get sneak previews of products from their brands. Names including Rimmel, Revlon, and Nivea. Superdrug all held events in stores across the country to bring shoppers together to discuss beauty trends and the latest inspiration from the leading health and wellbeing brands.
Fitting effortlessly into the urban tropical theme, the bespoke light tunnel emulated a visual representation of the event colours – flashing pink with red and white. Sound, light and immersion are crucial to crafting experiences that captivate and consume us and the light tunnel floods you with light in an artistic way.
Celebrities Daisie Smith, Billie Faiers, and Ferne McCann were in attendance to strut their stuff in a 2019 futuristic photo experience.
#4 Mentos Complimentos
In 2019 Mentos’ launched a fresh new look and campaign: Complimentos aims to bring people together through compliments. Building on the success of 2018 Mentos Say Hello campaign, Complimentos saw every roll feature one of 16 light-hearted compliments. Slogans included ‘You and I are MINT to be’ and ‘You are the one I CHEWS.’
To maximise engagement with their customers, Mentos customised the Bullet Rig and took it to shopping malls across the country. The activations took place over the course of three months from July until September.
Awash with vibrant colours the stand made a real impression with shoppers. Visitors could pose with an oversized Mentos packs adorning a complimentos slogan in front of the 180-degree multi-camera array.
At the heart of the message, Mentos ask you to refresh your connections with the people around you – the easiest and most positive way to restore a relationship is by giving a compliment! A perfect way to end this segment of our top 10 photo experiences in 2019.
